Equans has secured an extension to its longstanding IFM contract with Southern Water.

The FM provider was appointed in 2021 to deliver integrated FM services across 4,000 sites on Southern Water’s estate. The contract extension means Equans will continue to do so until at least 2029.

Equans WILL continue to provide hard FM services, mechanical & electrical, planned preventative maintenance, fire & security systems, reactive works, energy services, grounds maintenance and cleaning. The company will also roll out an AI helpdesk and employ more staff on the contract.

Joe Cuddy,  Operations Director – Private Sector at Equans UK & Ireland, said: “We’re proud to continue supporting Southern Water as a trusted FM partner. This extension reflects the strength of our relationship and a shared ambition to deliver greater value through innovation, sustainability and service excellence. We look forward to the next chapter of collaboration and continuing to support Southern Water achieve its long-term goals for the future.”

Matt Gee, Head of Commercial Operational Services at Southern Water, added: “Our partnership with Equans has gone from strength to strength and we are pleased to extend our agreement for another three years from April 2026, following successful discussions. Equans’ experience, FM capability, and commitment to service quality make them an invaluable partner as we work towards delivering a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable water service.”
