Vertas, the multi-service FM provider, has awarded Imtech Inviron a £30 million Mechanical, Engineering and Electrical contract for five years for work across its client base, which includes the Suffolk County Council estate.

After a competitive tender, mobilisation began in July with the contract commencing in September.

The 5-year deal, worth around £6 million per annum, covers a broad range of Mechanical, Engineering and Electrical (ME&E) responsibilities from boiler servicing to providing solutions around heat and power such as renewable energy works, including micro-generation renewable technologies, biomass boilers or photovoltaics.

Alongside this will be emergency, responsive and planned property maintenance services. This includes mechanical and electrical test and inspections as well as most other typical property maintenance needs such as building management systems, lifts, security systems, plumbing and heating repairs.

Ian Surtees, CEO of Vertas said: “We have worked with Imtech since 2003 and have established a strong relationship. Partnering with Imtech means we can offer a one-provider total facilities management solution to our clients. It also offers growth opportunities for both businesses as we support each other’s clients.

Noel Clancy, MD of Imtech Inviron said: “We are substantially growing the scope on this strategically important contract. I believe the technical ability and agility of our frontline teams together with the stability and innovation that our parent EDF Energy Services bring to the table, was a key differentiator.”

Imtech has been operating in the UK since 2003 and has extensive expertise and experience in engineering services, technical facilities management and systems integration.
