From Sensor To Employee - Managing The Data Journey

FSI have developed an IoT Hub
28 March 2019

FSI have developed an IoT Hub, a platform for delivering IoT solutions. The hub allows users to have visibility of time spent on maintenance.

Data from BMS systems, sensors, applications and assets is gathered and processed by the IoT Hub which then performs executable actions and sends this to FSI’s Concept Evolution CAFM IWMS solution.

With the IoT Hub FSI says users can:

  • Generate tasks based on alerts.

  • Prioritise maintenance visits based on conditions.

  • Mobilise and forecast asset maintenance expenditure.

Workplace

FSI also claim the Hub will assist in keeping control of data in the workplace and provide an optimised workplace to promote wellbeing.

FSI’s off-the-shelf IoT products include:

  • Occupancy monitoring, such as hot desks and meeting rooms.

  • Leak detection.

  • Legionella monitoring.

  • Diagnostic maintenance.

  • Alert management.

  • Environment monitoring.

An additional benefit is the ability to realise energy savings, improve maintenance and increase comfort with the IoT Hub - which give people a working environment to boost productivity, say FSI.

FSI recognised as a challenger in the integrated workplace management systems market

FSI has been recognised as a market challenger in IWMS by independent research firm Verdantix.

Verdantix has published its second Green Quadrant report on IWMS solutions, which provides individuals responsible for selecting, implementing and managing software for real estate and facilities management with a detailed benchmark of 16 prominent software products.

IWMS solutions assist organisations with the effective management of workplace and real estate portfolios, including infrastructure and facilities assets.

Verdantix found the strengths of the FSI offering include:

  • Out-of-the-box software functionality to support facilities services firms.

  • Mobile apps for field engineers.

  • Real-time asset monitoring powered by the FSI IoT Hub.

  • User-centric mobile apps that meet the needs of building occupants.

“In recent years there has been the rapid emergence of software solutions that aim to help outsourced facilities services firms be more productive and improve their client relations” said Verdantix' Susan Clarke, Principal Analyst. “This latest Green Quadrant finds that FSI remains at the forefront of innovation in this area. Its software and mobile apps provide comprehensive out-of-the-box functionality to meet the needs of key user groups such as engineers, cleaning operatives, helpdesk staff and account managers.”
