Hoxton Hub

Hoxton Hub
06 July 2018

International co-working developer, Areaworks, opened  its first site in the UK, in Hoxton, East London, on the evening of July 5.

It brings a new way of working to the local area by creating an open community for those looking for a stylish location.  Areaworks Hoxton will provide a creative hub to help support local businesses in the area and build a community – a supportive environment for SMEs, entrepreneurs, creatives and freelancers it is claimed.

The on-trend, open interior will be specially designed to provide inspiration and encourage people to do more together, with areas which can be transformed for workshops, lectures, brainstorms and breakouts.

There’s a roof terrace (where the July 5 opening barbie was held) with insta-worthy views across London where members can make the most of the Great British summer. And there's a living room area which is a comfy and fun place to chill, helping everyone achieve that all important work-life balance.

It offers 28 full time working desks and 56 flexible desks in. Areaworks is located right by Regents Canal. The building exposes original features brought bang up to date by colour and a playful tone.

The Hoxton location was selected based on the rising demand for alternative, creative work spaces following the East London Tech City Initiative, launched in 2010 to attract technology companies to the area. It has since boomed to include thousands of businesses and over 1M people.

Panny Lawrence, Founder and Director of Areaworks, told ThisWeekinFM: “Hoxton is one of the most vibrant places in the UK with a real sense of community and a strong reputation for supporting local businesses. Our co-working space will champion like-minded business owners and creatives, giving them a sense of community and a base to build their businesses.

“The blueprint for our coworking spaces is derived from the kind of place I could only have dreamed of when I was starting out in business. A community of talent who are able to share their skills and knowledge.  Areaworks adds a personal touch that large traditional workplaces cannot.  We’re proud to be a part of Hoxton and support local businesses achieve their full potential.

“We’ve got big plans for the UK and we’re hoping to mirror the success of our parent company’s coworking spaces worldwide, starting in Hoxton with plans to launch even more locations.”

Areaworks and its parent company, Workspace Commerce, follow in the footsteps of Google, Amazon, and McKinsey that have invested in the Hoxton and Shoreditch area to date.

Areworks Hoxton will be open from 9am – 6pm, with 24-hour access available upon request. Free tea and coffee, a communal kitchen space and free printing, scanning and photocopying facilities are also available to those who join, enhanced by its gym membership offering in partnership with The Gym Group.
