Mitie has secured an extension to its security and intelligence management contract with the asset manager for The Shard.

The contract, worth seven figures per annum, spans four of Real Estate Management (UK) Limited’s properties,  including The Shard and Shard Quarter.

Mitie will continue to provide 24/7 security operations, training and development, intelligence and horizon scanning.

Jason Towse, Managing Director, Business Services said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with REM, a relationship that dates back to 2018. This contract reflects our shared commitment to innovation, intelligence, and exceptional service. By harnessing our cutting-edge technology and investing in our people, we will deliver a security solution that not only protects these landmark properties and supports safer communities but also enhances the experience for everyone who visits them.” 

Mitie has retained the contract for an additional five years and already has a team of over 150 security professionals working across the portfolio.
