Serviced office and flexible workspace provider, Office Space in Town (OSiT), has appointed Georgia Sandom, already the company’s youngest ever Director, as its new Director of ESG.
Whilst only 19 per cent of real estate directors are women, OSiT’s board of directors is already 67 per cent female. The new strategy and Georgia’s appointment indicate a commitment to continue to strengthen these principles across the organisation in a measurable and sustainable way.
Giles Fuchs, CEO of OSIT, said: “Georgia has been with us for over a decade, so we are delighted to announce her appointment as our new Director of ESG. The development of OSiT’s strategy around ESG commitments will be vital to the long-term vision and performance of the company, and there is no one better to lead us into this future.
“Georgia’s appointment marks OSiT’s ambition to drive progress and innovation in the industry. With several of this year’s deals stemming from enquiries about our ESG policies, the focus on ESG is certainly a pattern we see continuing in the flexible office space sector as a whole.”
ISS UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Andrew Wilkinson as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its Office & Production business unit.
Andrew will assume the role on 1 September 2022, following a handover with Kevin Wildman, who has been in role on an interim basis since 1 January 2022.
This appointment marks the completion of UK&I CEO Liz Benison’s country leadership team (CLT), which is designed to deliver the company’s ongoing transformation under its OneISS strategy and drive the UK and Ireland’s return to growth.
Andrew has a 30 year-strong, proven track record in senior strategic and operating roles, both in facilities management and broader industry. Most recently, he was Divisional Chair (North) of housebuilder Taylor Wimpey. As a member of the Group Management Team, he led the North Division, building homes and communities across the North West, North East and Yorkshire.
Prior to his role at Taylor Wimpey, Andrew spent ten years at Sodexo, including his last role as CEO for Sodexo’s Schools and Universities segment in the UK and Ireland, delivering Integrated FM and Food services at over 600 sites across the region. During his time at Sodexo, Andrew also held operational, strategic, and marketing roles in the Corporate Services segment.
Andrew Wilkinson, incoming COO of Office & Production, ISS UK&I, commented:
“Now is a fantastic time to be joining a company that benefits from a long heritage in the industry, but is modernising and repurposing itself to meet the challenges of facilities management in the modern era.
“I look forward to working with my new colleagues in the CLT and across the business to win new clients and grow and develop the genuine, lasting partnerships ISS has with some of the UK’s most successful, and best known, businesses.”
Mace, the international consultancy, construction and facilities management company, has appointed Gary Pyle as UK and Europe Regional Lead to drive strategic growth plans for Operate, its facilities management business, across the region.
Gary joined Mace in 2021, as mobilisation lead, supporting Operate in the set up and initiation of facilities management contracts. As Regional Operations Lead, Gary will be responsible for delivering Operate’s target operating model to all clients across the UK and Europe.
Gary has over 17 years of operations experience within the facilities management industry. Prior to joining Mace, he worked as a consultant across facilities and estates, leading on projects and programmes for companies including Mitie and G4S.
Prior to a career in facilities management, Gary was in the British Army.
Gary commented: “I am extremely excited by this opportunity to deliver exceptional service and growth for our Operate business. The UK and European FM sector is forecast to grow by more than 3% year on year and the current trend of smart technologies, data insights, and innovative sustainable solutions align extremely well with our strengths and priority objectives. I know we have a fantastic operational team, and I am very much looking forward to working more closely with them.”
WowNow Hire, which provides equipment hire, expertise and services to businesses across the FM sector, has appointed Tracey Dunn as Customer Relations Manager.
Craig Bowman has been appointed as General Manager for Kimberly-Clark Professional UK & Ireland – 14 years after he started at the company as an intern on an industrial placement from university.
Craig, 34, has held roles in sales and marketing for Kimberly-Clark Professional in the UK as well as Dubai, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East in the last 14 years. He returned to the UK in February for the first time since the start of the pandemic after a two-year stint as General Manager in Israel.
