ABM Appoints Environment and Sustainability Manager

ABM, a provider of facility and aviation solutions, has appointed an Environment and Sustainability Manager to drive delivery of sustainable initiatives and reporting, across its business and industry and aviation divisions, in the UK.

Katrina Hazell joins ABM after spending almost three decades of her career in the construction industry, most recently as Sustainability and Social Value Manager at Balfour Beatty. A Chartered Civil Engineer and a Postgraduate in Sustainable Business Leadership, Hazell brings a wealth of experience and expertise to ABM, specialising in sustainability and social value outcome.

Reporting to ABM UK Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Director Andrew Lewinton, Hazell will be responsible for aligning the sustainability, social value and climate change strategy to the UK marketplace.

Hazell commented: “ABM is committed to improving and demonstrating its sustainability performance to better business principles. Through close working relationships with teams across the business my work will be focused on helping to achieve that.

“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity. My biggest challenge will be capturing all of the progress for onward reporting.”

Rockwell Promotes Nicholas Mee to MD

London-based mixed-use developer, Rockwell has announced the promotion of Nicholas Mee to Managing Director UK. Previously Board Director and Head of Land, Mee has 15 years’ experience spanning acquisitions, investment, construction and marketing across both residential and commercial sectors.

This announcement comes at an exciting time for Rockwell with significant progress being made across its variety of development sites including Vetro and One South Quay in Canary Wharf, and The Salvation Army Headquarters in Elephant & Castle.

Prior to joining Rockwell, Mee held roles within the property team at Lidl UK overseeing estate management, site acquisition, planning and construction; he then joined real estate developer, R55, before an opportunity arose to join the Rockwell team in 2018.

Commenting on his promotion to Managing Director UK, he said: “I am honoured to have received this promotion and look forward to building on Rockwell’s impressive legacy and leading the immensely talented team to deliver world-class developments.”

Donal Mulryan, Founder of Rockwell added: “It is a great pleasure to announce Nicholas’ promotion to Managing Director. Over the years, he has played an integral role in the success and growth of our business, and this promotion is testament to Nicholas’ wealth of knowledge and exceptional performance.”

Leeds Multi-Service Provider Hires Group Bid Manager

A Leeds-based multi-service provider has appointed a new Group Bid Manager.

Servo Group has appointed Laura Bacon to enhance its growth by increasing its bid and tender writing capacity, ultimately winning new contracts.

Bacon has over fifteen years of experience in commercial bid writing, copywriting and public relations for a range of private sector and not-for-profit organisations, including University College London and Coinbox/Redstar.

Bacon will work alongside Servo’s existing sales and commercial team, sourcing new tender opportunities, converting them to contract awards and helping to further facilitate the multi-service provider’s expansion.

Servo's CEO, Andrew McCallion said “We are delighted to welcome Laura to the team – she brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record. We’re confident that she can help enhance our growth and maintain and better our bid successes as we drive the Group towards its next phase of expansion.”

Bacon said: “I’m really excited to be joining a dynamic, thriving firm like Servo and I’m looking forward to playing a part in its further growth. With the excellent reputation, compliance record and solid accreditations that Servo already has in place, I’m confident we can achieve some great tender wins.”
