ISS has raised to date over £100,000 for The One Foundation via the sale of One Water in recyclable containers.

The One Foundation has raised £20 million, enabling them to change the lives of over 3.6 million people. ISS sells the Foundation's products at the retail sites the company operates across the UK.

Duncan Goose, Founder of One, said: "With ISS' help, we've been able to reach communities living below the poverty line and bring them a sustainable clean water supply."

Matthew Brabin, CEO ISS UK & Ireland said: “Our support of One Water is proof of ISS’ commitment to finding the best products with the best possible social benefits. This project allows us to support communities to get the best sanitation, education and more.

“This is just one of the ways that we in facilities management can make a positive impact for our clients and reinforce community relationships.”

ISS has been asked what UK recycling plants can handle the recyclable containers.

Less bottle

One Water's still mountain water is available in a carton. The charity says the carton is fully recyclable and made from sustainable paperboard from FSC approved forests.

One Water distribute 250ml, 500ml bottles and a 750ml sports bottle or larger bottles for home and work. the PET bottles contain 100% Welsh spring water.

PET is the world’s most recycled plastic - Polyethylene Terephthalate is a strong, lightweight, transparent plastic. PET resin, is commonly used to make drink bottles as well as cosmetic and food-grade packaging including take-out and microwave safe food containers. Because of its good texture compatibility, PET is also used as basic material for blood vessel implants. When PET is used to make fabric, it’s known as polyester.

According to the PET Resin Association website, one of material’s major advantages is that it’s 100% recyclable And it is actually recycled at a rate of 31% in the United States and 52% in Europe.

Common recycled PET products include new PET bottles and jars, carpet, clothing, industrial strapping, rope, automotive parts, fiberfill for winter jackets and sleeping bags, construction materials, and protective packaging.

According to the British Plastics Federation website, 74 per cent of plastic drink bottles are recycled (and Wales, from where One Water hails, has the second best household recycling rate in the world).

One ‘Butterfly’ glass water

Otherwise known as the Butterfly Bottle, One Water's premium glass range offers glass bottles that are made from 35% recycled glass.
