• Planet Mark Appoints New Managing Director

Avital Johanan has been appointed as Planet Mark’s new Managing Director,  succeeding the sustainability organisation’s founder, Steve Malkin.

Avital has a background in data products and business transformation and joined Planet Mark in 2024 as Chief Product Officer.

Steve Malkin, who has led Planet Mark for the past 12 years, will continue to act as a Senior Advisor within the business.

Planet Mark says that the move is part of their transition to scaling their impact across global supply chains, through top-down tools and certifications for businesses and deeper human engagement to help companies drive better results.

“I believe we have an exciting opportunity to grow our business and our impact at Planet Mark,” said Avital.

“We have a talented and committed team, with products that are trusted by hundreds of companies across the UK and beyond to support them on their journey to net-zero and find the business value in sustainability.

“We know that companies of all sizes – from micro-businesses to multinationals – face challenges in turning ambition into action, particularly around engagement, education and capacity building within their business and their supply chains. This remains the biggest barrier to progress.
