Sustainability champions and enlightened leaders were amongst those who attended the second The Planet Mark Awards, at the Sadlers Wells Theatre on October 17.
The Planet Mark Founder, Steve Malkin welcomed over 200 guests from across the UK to the sold-out ceremony. He said: “The Planet Mark Awards are a timely reminder of how much we can achieve as individuals, organisations and as a collective. I hope they can provide knowledge and optimism that will shape our commitments for 2020 and the start of a critical 10-years for us and every living thing on our planet.
“We call it the Decade of Action and we hope The Awards will provide a launch pad for us all to be at our transformational best. If ever there was a moment in time to be counted upon, this is it.
Malkin gave particular thanks to Giant Peach and the other sponsors and supporters for making the night possible. The Planet Mark and ThisWeekinFM have shared a partnership since both organisations opened for business nearly seven years ago.
Anna Ledgard
One of the highlights of the evening included an inspiring speech from guest speaker Anna Ledgard who said: “My role is to weave, often over years, the web of trusting relationships which make deep artistic collaboration possible, engaging with senior managers & CEOs, negotiating with public institutions and private corporations, building new networks for communication and interaction. 'Me. We. Us.' With any meaningful engagement for change we have to start with ourselves with the 'Me'.”
Winners
One of the big winners of the night was Commercial Group who took home Employee Engagement, Best Newcomer and Personal Achievement. The other individual award, Sustainability Influencer went to Adrian Shah-Cundy at VolkerWessels.
Prologis UK took home the top honours of the night winning Best Company.
