GlaxoSmithKline has asked Emcor UK to be very techie in technical services. What is being described as a £ multi-million 'next generation' 5-year contract will cover six UK R&D facilities.

Emcor started work on 2 December 2019 for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) the science-led global healthcare company. This is after going through a multi-stage selection process. Central to the concluding arrangement is an incentive driven commercial model that enables improvement in quality, innovation and technology throughout the duration of the contract.

A focus on improvements in areas such as data quality and analytics will be achieved through working with both client validated systems and Emcor UK IT solutions, delivering a data led approach to facilities management.

Operations

It was also key for GSK that the operation will ensure the 250 strong FM team are supported by a wider team of experts and technical solutions from Emcor's central compliance and engineering functions.

In response to the complexity presented by the R&D estate, Emcor will be leveraging expertise gained from working with existing clients who currently occupy some of most complex, regulated and technically challenging environments in the UK.

Keith Chanter, CEO at Emcor UK, said: “We are delighted to start this exciting collaboration with GSK. With an adoption of new technologies, we aim to  provide a high level of technical service and compliance to GSK”
