In addition to EMCOR UK becoming a member of The Association for Key Account Management (AKAM), Steven Dolan, Operations Director for EMCOR UK, will join the AKAM board.
AKAM is a not-for-profit organisation, established five years ago, with over 400 corporate and individual members from around the world. Its mission is the professionalisation of KAM, improving standards and gaining recognition of KAM as a distinct discipline. KAM is the systematic process of planning and managing a mutually beneficial partnership between an organisation and its most important customers.
Since 2008 more than 300 EMCOR employees have been through the company’s KAM training and development programmes which also centred around ISO40001 - the International Standard for collaborative business relationships. The EMCOR UK programme has also been certified by the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW).
Operations Director Steven Dolan, who leads EMCOR UK’s internal KAM, said, “Our partnership with AKAM is a natural progression to further our knowledge, create value for our customers and provide our employees with access to best practice resources to support their personal development including professionally recognised qualifications and accreditations.”
Dr Diana Woodburn, AKAM Chairman said, “I am delighted to welcome EMCOR UK as the first facilities management company to join AKAM and I look forward to working with Steven Dolan, Operations Director, who will represent EMCOR UK on the AKAM board.”
Membership of AKAM will provide access to white papers, additional training, webinars and development programmes and all employees will automatically become a member of AKAM once they have completed the EMCOR UK training programme.
