In 2026, ISS will embark on a five-year contract with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

ISS will deliver soft facilities management services across the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) estate, such as daily cleaning, catering, reception services, and grounds maintenance.

The FCDO is responsible for the UK’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world. Their property portfolio includes 11 UK locations, including eight in London. Its only owned property is the Grade I listed Main Building in King Charles Street. It leases four buildings in London: 1 Carlton Gardens, Lancaster House, the Russian Embassy and the Russian Ambassador’s Residence in Kensington Palace Gardens.

Under the new contract, ISS will also assist with capital projects such as equipment upgrades, office refurbishments and roof replacements.

The contract is worth DKK 300 million annually, equivalent to around £35 million.

Scott Davies, Country Manager of ISS United Kingdom & Ireland, said: “We are immensely excited and proud to enter this partnership with the FCDO. With our strong UK public sector expertise and people-centric approach, we will work as ‘one team’ with the FCDO to deliver high-quality services and exceptional workplace experiences that enhance efficiency and wellbeing. It is a true privilege for ISS to support such a vital government department in its daily mission to lead diplomatic, development, and consular work in the UK and across the globe.”
