Mitie has won a five-year contract to manage planned and reactive engineering maintenance at twelve buildings across three DVLA sites in the Swansea area.

The contract includes the DVLA’s data centre, training facilities and office space for almost 6,000 employees.

Mitie will remotely monitor data from building equipment like HVAC systems to detect faults before issues arise, as well as identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency.

It will also support the DVLA in its ambition to reduce carbon emissions by 62 per cent by 2025, installing air source heat pumps across two sites.

The contract is worth £81.7 million, with the option to extend for an additional two years.
