People have been evacuated from the Old Bailey after a fire broke out.
Some claim to have heard "explosions" and "rumblings" at the London court. The BBC reports of a fire in the ground floor of the central criminal court, and that black, acrid smoke has been coming from the rear of the building.
London Fire Brigade reported that they "...were called at 10:44 GMT and four fire engines and about 25 firefighters were at the scene..." responding to an incident involving an electrical substation on Warwick Lane near the rear of the Old Bailey. The ground floor substation was partly damaged, but crews had the fire under control by 14.07.
Firefighters from Dowgate, Soho and Dockhead Fire Station attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No casualties have been reported yet and all court proceedings have been postponed.
