Read Full ArticleThe founder of a London-based pest control company is to appear as a contestant on Series 17 of The Apprentice on BBC One.
Mark Moseley, Director at PestGone Environmental, will join the series as one of eighteen candidates competing to win a quarter-of-a-million-pound investment from Lord Alan Sugar.
”The pest control industry is worth hundreds of millions of pounds a year in the UK. Out of all the candidates on paper, I am the one who can grow the business the quickest."
–Mark Moseley
Director, PestGone Environmental
PestGone Environmental provides pest management services across London & Kent, working in partnership with the London Port of Authority to keep the River Thames free from deceased animals.
When asked why his company deserved Lord Sugar’s investment, Mark said: ”The pest control industry is worth hundreds of millions of pounds a year in the UK. Out of all the candidates on paper, I am the one who can grow the business the quickest. If Lord Sugar doesn’t pick me, then he’s missing a trick.
Mark continued: “My USP is that I’m very talkative with the charm to match – I can sell to anyone. I’ve been around the world and have met hundreds of different people, from members of the royal family to celebrities. I can always speak to them in a confident manner, so I know I’d be right at home negotiating and securing deals with some of the biggest brands.”
“My biggest weakness is that I can be a little bit over-confident from time to time. I may jump ahead of the game, but at the same time people like confident people, people buy into confidence. And that’s why people buy into me.”
Mark is also a former soldier and security specialist who operated in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo to name a few. He joined ThisWeekinFM and JobOppO as a guest speaker at the Ex-Military – A Journey Into FM event at Churchill War Rooms in October 2021.
He is also part of the business mentoring programme at Heropreneurs, helping the ex-military community to start their own businesses and adjust to being their own boss.
The Apprentice starts on Thursday 5 Jan on BBC One.
