Read Full ArticlePenguin FM is a Leeds-based Total FM provider delivering integrated services for clients across a range of sectors. In this Spotlight Interview, co-founders Edward Wick and Rohin Dhand talk to us about the business, with insights on proactive maintenance, use of technology and what's in store for the future.
Penguin FM’s facilities management solutions are focused on enhancing each workplace, from mechanical and electrical maintenance testing and compliance, planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance. Their team pride themselves on their high-quality service delivery and strive to improve efficiency for their clients by offering bespoke and integrated services.
“By taking our clients from a reactive approach to a preventative approach, it's enabled them to save tens of thousands of pounds.”
– Rohin Dhand
Co-Founder, Penguin FM
Penguin FM advocates a proactive approach to all maintenance and offer preventative maintenance on all equipment and building fabric by inspecting, detecting and correcting any failures before they become major defects and affect operations. This helps to keep unplanned costs at a minimum and maintains manufacturer warranties too.
Penguin FM is aiming to increase efficiency wherever possible and this goes beyond migrating clients from a reactive to a preventative approach. Geographical analysis allows their engineers to get to jobs in the shortest time, with the added benefit of keeping carbon emissions to a minimum.
Co-Founder Edward Wick explains: “We have mapping software that links in with our CAFM system and this allows us to plot where our clients are geographically located and know all of their sites. We can then use that information to reduce inefficiencies in travel time for our engineers and use engineers that are local and nearby to those sites.”
