14forty will provide cleaning and catering services for retailer The Range at its new distribution site in Stowmarket, Suffolk.

At 1.17 million square feet, the Stowmarket site is the fourth-largest distribution centre in the UK, set to employ over 1,200 people by summer 2025. The Range is the first company to secure a unit at the Gateway 14 Innovation Park, part of Freeport East, one of only eight Freeports in the UK. 

The building itself is rated BREEAM Excellent and features EV charging, LED lighting, solar PV, smart energy systems, rainwater harvesting and high-quality landscaping, across the site.

As part of the catering side of the contract, 14forty, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, will provide breakfast, evening meals and access to vending machines.

During the three-year soft facilities management contract, 14forty team members will have access to the on-site gym and retail discounts at high street stores.

Emma Wilson, Operations Manager at 14forty, added: “This is an exciting contract win for 14forty with a client who shares our values and is committed to working collaboratively to deliver outstanding services for its on-site teams.

“Everything we do has been tailored to meet the client's needs. For catering, speed of service was a key requirement, so we installed AI tills to ensure employees can go from entering the restaurant to sitting down with their food in under four minutes.

“For cleaning, we’re delivering continuous service throughout the day, ensuring washrooms, changing rooms, and locker areas remain consistently clean and welcoming.

“This is another great example of the value in packaging FM services with a single provider. The on-site relationships are already exceptional.”
