CBRE Group has purchased Romonet, a global company that utilises cloud based analytics software to unlock efficiencies and increase capacity at data centres.

John Dunstan, president, Data Center Solutions (note that although Romonet is a UK company, this is an American led acquisition) at CBRE, said: “Romonet adds complementary solutions to our existing platform and will help us to deliver differentiated outcomes for our clients across the globe.”

UK roots

Founded in 2008 by UK data centre technology pioneers Zahl Limbuwala and Liam Newcombe, Romonet. Limbuwala said: “The data centre market continues to rapidly evolve and scale, so automation is increasingly critical. Joining CBRE’s global data centres team will allow us to provide worldwide support and capability for our clients.”

Sandeep Davé, Chief Digital and Technology Officer for CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions business said: “Romonet’s technology will add to our market differentiation and phenomenal talent will join CBRE.”

CBRE manages more than 800 data centers around the world.
