• NHS Trusts Appoint Assist Security Group

Assist Security Group has won security services contracts with Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is a large acute trust serving South West London and Surrey, including two district general hospitals, Epsom General Hospital and St Helier Hospital. Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is one of the busiest trusts in South London, and includes Croydon University Hospital, which provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only intensive care unit.

Assist’s security strategy for the contracts includes a five-day initial training programme for all security officers, which provides specialist support in physical intervention techniques and the appropriate use of restraint. All duty officers will be provided with body cameras and access to a digital platform for real-time incident reporting and patrol management.

The company pays at least the London Living Wage and has recently signed the Mindful Employer charter, committing to support the mental wellbeing of their staff. “I am delighted to welcome Assist Security Group as the new security service provider for Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
