Asbestos is a hidden killer.
It’s still prevalent and the greatest source of workplace deaths in the UK today.
We believe that by using inexpensive, easy to use technology and working with like-minded people, leading asbestos support organisations and research charities, we can improve education regarding the dangers of asbestos, reduce the number of accidental exposures and help prevent thousands of deaths from asbestos related diseases.

WHO ARE WE?UKNAR (UK National Asbestos Register) is a new social enterprise established to help management and dutyholders manage asbestos simply and safely while better informing and educating those people who may be at risk. |

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT ME?It is estimated that asbestos may be present in up to 50% of all UK homes and 500,000 workplaces built before 2000. This means any one of us could be at risk of asbestos exposure at home, at work or in a public place. Asbestos SMART
Asbestos SMART is a simple, easy to use technological solution which gives visiting contractors and key on site personnel immediate access to the latest asbestos register for your building, just by using their mobile phone or smart mobile device.
Every UKNAR registered building enrolled into the Asbestos SMART system is issued with a unique QR code. The QR code presented can be incorporated into a sign. This can be tailored to your organisation’s individual requirements, including your logo and contact details.
This sign can act as a passive reminder or can be incorporated as an active part of your visitor / contractor sign-in process. Please take a few minutes to watch our Asbestos SMART video.
