Digital Transformation Road Map

Know your WHY and know your HOW

The current global context combines an unprecedented change in supply and demand, over production and a global environmental crisis. To respond, businesses and organisations will have to transform rapidly, tap into innovation, make bold decisions, to secure safe profitable operations in the toughest conditions without any margin for error.

And yet a report by McKinsey reveals that 70% of large-scale transformation programs do not meet their targets. That is roughly US$1.4 trillion wasted.

So how can businesses start a digital transformation journey on the right foot? Do we start with a culture change?  A rip-and-replace of existing systems?  Or follow a step-by-step process, replacing or modifying existing systems?

None of these questions are correct. What we should be asking is WHY do we need to transform in the first place. The only way to adapt is to acknowledge that the world around us has changed. Once you know your WHY you just need to follow our “secret sauce” recipe to achieve guaranteed results.

At AMS we have developed the Rapid Transformation SystemTM. RTSTM a result of 15 years work and research. We did not learn this incredible method from a book or a course, but from our very own experience, and with clients who demonstrated what was needed.

We had clients ranging from Transport Networks to Real Estate Owners and Major FM service providers; from them we have learned what is needed. A rapid and very efficient method that delivers effective evidence-based results. No one can waste time on poor decisions and long-drawn-out business change. Taking one step forward and two steps back.

Our Rapid Transformation SystemTM is structured of five key components that help you to find your fit first time; Enabling you to work out, in the background, your future state (target operating model) before any integration with business as usual. Digital Transformation should not be an open-heart surgery.

As with every transformation journey there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Turning the super tanker around might seem like an impossible task, however once you are heading in the right direction and not sinking, your chances of survival have increased approximately 98%. That is the first bonus. There is plenty to celebrate and to finally have a BIG party. At this stage, your TOM becomes the new delivery vehicle with benefits realisation built into new business processes. That is when your organisation will be firing on all cylinders, delivering excellent service to customers.

And remember digital transformation initiatives do not need reinforcement if you have the buy-in from your workforce. In fact, make sure they have the right tools for the job and through goal-based targets adjust the overall direction of travel.
