'Pointless Alexander Armstrong' (who is coincidentally also the host of the BBC's Pointless quiz show) was there to show how he got his nick-name as he trotted out the same gags as he'd used at the plumber's merchants awards 2015. In fairness the 1,200 guests at the black tie do didn't complain as Armstrong handed out the gongs - fourteen in all along with a selection of highly commendeds:
