Canada Water in Southwark, London, will see Comelit Group supplying the VIP door entry solution

Comelit Group is supplying the VIP door entry solution to the first phase of Project Light at London's Canada Water in Southwark. The deal is with Ardmore Group, who has been awarded an £80 million contract to become the main contractor.

Project Light has been created by a development partnership of Notting Hill Genesis and Sellar, as a major mixed-use development. On completion, it will deliver a new town centre with 1,030 new homes and a range of commercial and community uses across a seven acre site.

Phase one includes 234 apartments for private rent and a Decathlon store with a basement car park. The store occupies the lower levels of the building with an outdoor multi-use-games-area situated on the podium level.  There are four residential cores at higher level surrounding a landscaped courtyard.

Says Martin Smith, Systems Manager of Ardmore Group: “Regeneration has been a long time coming for Canada Water.  With the aim to create a community lifestyle, the balance between security and creating a welcoming environment was key..

“When it came to door entry, we knew Comelit Group could deliver but what really exceeded expectation was the capability to integrate the lift functionality.  The result will enable a seamless guest experience right from the front door entry throughout the development.”

Comelit Group was specified with its specialist VIP door entry solution, including 33 bespoke digital stainless steel entry panels and mini handsfree monitors fitted to all 234 properties.

A lift integration system was requested to create a connected effect throughout the property for the benefit of all homeowners and guests alongside a concierge unit to enable two way audio communication, whether from a single apartment or to all homes to ensure updates on property maintenance schedules are shared.

Chris Carroll, Comelit Group Business Development Manager said: “The ability to present an all-encompassing solution, right from door entry, through lift integration, concierge services and apartment monitors is something increasingly being requested.  It ensures simple installation and one point of contact throughout the works programme.”
