This first episode brings an FM sector overview from Dave Mapps, Client Relationship Manager at ThisWeekinFM, and the personal journey of Ray Cooksley, who left the Army and entered ISS.

Changing the Narrative Around Veteran Employment

“A NAAFI Break with JobOppo” is a collaboration that seeks to support veterans and service lavers into successful second careers.

Episode one is available to the wider public, but over the next six months there will be 12 exclusive episodes available for the JobOppo Community, with a specific sector focus, from Industry specialists, JobOppo members and the wider employment community.

The goal of the series, is to help change the narrative around veteran employment and ensure service leavers and veterans can identify the value and experience they have to offer, as well as help employers understand the benefits that they bring to the business.

"It’s all about helping veterans realise that their skillset is very applicable to this industry, and not just to one part of this industry but many, many different areas."

–Dave Mapps

Join us at Our Military Networking Event

ThisWeekinFM is hosting a not-for-profit event on Thursday 28th October from 1 pm to 5 pm exclusively for those that have left the Armed Forces and seeking a new challenge.

The aim of this event is to promote the huge number of opportunities for service leavers within the FM, built environment, property, workplace and related sectors and why it is such a good fit for them.

Join us from 1 pm for a small showcase of companies operating across these industries and understand why ex-Military personnel are so appealing to such a diverse range of sectors.

A number of inspirational speakers will share their experiences of working within the FM and related sectors and show delegates what guidance and support is at hand, such as mentors, for both the employee and the employer.

The event will conclude with some drinks and networking, with delegates having the opportunity to meet our speakers and interact with the company showcase.

Delegate registration is available now and there is no cost to attend. Sponsor and Showcase opportunities are also available and with your help, we can help those that have left the Armed Forces.
