Crown Estate Scotland Appoints London & Scottish to Manage Urban Property
31 March 2021

As of tomorrow (1 April 2021), London & Scottish Property Investment Management will take over the management of Crown Estate Scotland’s sole urban property at 39-41 George Street.

London & Scottish Property Investment Management (LSPIM) will provide property management services for the building. The property comprises a ground-floor retail space, currently occupied by retailer Anthropologie, and 17,350 sq ft of office space arranged over four upper floors.

Crown Estate Scotland purchased the Edinburgh building in the mid-1990s. It has a Category B listing by Historic Environment Scotland because of its regional and local importance. In addition, its location in George Street means that it lies within the New Town Conservation Area and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Andrew MacGilp, Director of Commercial Property at LSPIM, said: “We are very proud to be entrusted by Crown Estate Scotland with managing a property of such significance.

“Our approach is to manage properties working closely with occupiers in a sustainable, responsible and inclusive manner, which we believe will support Crown Estate Scotland with its remit.”
