Rachel Houghton, MD at BMG, said: “Steve is a real asset to BMG, and we are delighted to have him on board. Our work in sectors such as healthcare and media means we have a number of clients in need of technical service expertise, and Steve is one of the best in the business.”

Churchill Appoints Subject Matter Expert for Transport

Churchill, the employee-owned soft-services provider, has appointed Colin Marshall as subject matter expert for its transport division.

Marshall has spent more than 25 years working in the heavy and light rail, bus, coach, and aviation sectors. Over this time, he has supported more than £50 million worth of soft services delivery to the TFL London Underground portfolio, delivered many solutions to train operating companies and provided operations support at international and regional airports across the UK.

As subject matter expert, Marshall will ensure best-in-class operational solutions are delivered, oversee key activities during the mobilisation and maintain strategic relationships to support customer satisfaction. His strengths lie in empowering team members to excel, delivering innovative operational solutions and driving customer relationships.

Colin Marshall, subject matter expert at Churchill, said: “Churchill is well established in the transport sector thanks to its strong track record of excellent service provision, especially around cleaning and security. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience, empowering my colleagues and helping to create the best customer experience for our clients.”

Neil Creasey, chief business development officer at Churchill said: “Colin’s background and expertise are prized within the transport sector and his appointment is great news for Churchill and our clients. Transport is a key sector for us, and Colin will ensure that we continue to be the leading FM company in this space. Colin will strengthen our team and help keep us at the forefront of FM in the sector.”

Wates Focuses on Customer Experience With Senior Promotion

Wates has appointed Chey Godfrey as Support Services Operations Manager for its facilities management (FM) business, a new role that will increase the focus on compliance for its growing customer base.

Chey’s previous position was Assurance Compliance Tool (ACT) Manager, where she developed and oversaw the management of the company’s bespoke tool, which she built from the ground up. ACT provides a central point for customer compliance that ensures quality and efficiency across all contracts.

Joining the senior leadership team of Wates’ FM business, Chey will manage the customer experience, ensuring the business delivers on its contractual commitments as well as developing business systems to improve efficiency.

Chey’s remit will include a range of support services, including compliance, Computer Aided FM, contract mobilisation, customer services and safety, health, environment and quality admin processes.

With 20 years of experience in FM, Chey has been with Wates since 2015 and has built a diverse and accomplished career working for both FM providers and on the client side.

Starting out in customer service, Chey progressed through help desk and safety administration roles to managing compliance and in 2012 was involved in a six-month rollout of a new compliance system across 900 sites.

Chey said: “My passion is in problem solving and finding a better way to do things, and in facilities management this is really valuable to our customers. When I developed ACT, I had an ambition to create a system where all data and compliance logs could be accessed in four clicks or less. I wanted to simplify things for customers to make their lives easier. In my new role I will ensure that our contracts start on the right track and that high quality and compliance are maintained at every step.”

Antony Collett, Managing Director of Wates’ facilities management business, added: “Chey is one of the most experienced, dedicated and valued members of our team and her commitment to always achieving the best for our customers is very important to both our culture and the work we deliver. As our business grows, I am confident that under Chey’s leadership, we will continue to achieve high standards across all of our contracts.”

ISS UK & Ireland Appoints Martin Wilson to Drive Transformation of its Key Account Network

ISS UK & Ireland (ISS UK&I) has announced the appointment of Martin Wilson as Managing Director of its Key Account Network. The ISS UK&I Key Account Network (KAN) provides a range of facilities management services, including cleaning, maintenance and technical services nationwide, via a team of 3,500 colleagues, to more than 4,000 client sites across the UK and Ireland.

In his new role, Martin will be instrumental in the delivery of the KAN transformation programme, which aims to strengthen the network’s product offering, attract new talent, and build its reputation within ISS UK&I, and with its impressive client roster.

Martin joined ISS in February 2023 to lead a review of KAN and help the business meet the new challenge of growth in a post-pandemic context. Prior to joining ISS, he held senior property roles in the Banking and Retail sectors, responsible for global and domestic property portfolios and the full range of FM service lines.

Andrew Wilkinson, Chief Operations Officer for Office & Production, said: “Our Key Account Network has the potential to transform the way we support our clients and respond to their evolving needs in a fast-paced commercial and operating environment. I am delighted to be welcoming an executive of Martin’s calibre to our leadership team, and look forward to seeing him deliver the recommendations of his review for the benefit of our colleagues, our clients and their customers.”

Joblogic Appoints Stacy Sloan Sales Director

With the company for almost two decades, Stacy Sloan has been appointed Sales Director at leading field service management software provider Joblogic. Organic growth, M&A activity and international expansion all require Stacy to manage the rapid growth of the sales function.

Effective Immediately, Stacy Sloan has been appointed Sales Director for Joblogic. She has been promoted from her long-term role as Sales Manager, a role she has held since 2017. Joining Joblogic in 2003 – when it consisted of just seven people – Stacy has since worked in almost every department.

In her new role Stacy is responsible for both expanding the sales team and creating a new sales hierarchy to cope with the rapid level of organic growth the company is experiencing, plus the absorption of acquisitions (Joblogic recently acquired competitor Protean Software) and international expansion.

“Personally, and for the business it’s a really exciting time, as we are experiencing rapid growth,” said Stacy of her appointment. “My task is to scale up the sales department quickly, and at the same time ensure that quality standards are maintained. I’ve grown up with the company and the software, and seen the product evolve from being a desktop-platform to one that is entirely cloud-based. Just watch this space with Joblogic – it’s a great product and our new investment will help us fly – the sky’s the limit!”

Commenting on the appointment James Whatmore, CEO of Joblogic, said: "Stacy has been an integral part of the business since the early days. She has a proven track record of beating revenue targets and has been a major contributor to our growth over the past decade. She is an expert in the building maintenance industry and has a deep understanding of how business processes can be optimised using technology. Her 'challenger' style is welcomed by customers who want to get the most out of a software implementation. Stacy is an over-achiever and there is no one better to lead our expansion and rapidly scale up our sales function."

EMCOR UK Appoints Rebekah Randall as Head of Talent

EMCOR UK has appointed Rebekah Randall as its new head of talent. Randall joins the business at time when the best candidates have become a real commodity and employer value propositions have become a key part of the employment process.

Collaboration between HR, ED&I and account teams is critical, and Randall will build on the existing recruitment process by adding a strategic element driven by data insights and cross-team collaboration.

Randall joins the company after working in talent acquisition and recruitment roles for over a decade. She brings extensive knowledge on internships, as she developed a highly successful inclusive programme in her last role that focused on core abilities rather than entry requirements. The result was a dynamic group of interns who excelled in their roles.

Rebekah Randall, head of talent at EMCOR UK, commented: “I’m excited to join an organisation so committed to undertaking talent acquisition in such an inclusive and comprehensive manner. I want to focus on using the data we have from our already successful processes to develop new strategies for hiring and retention. We want every candidate to feel that they add value to their role, and that they have a real impact.”

Dylan Wickenden, executive director of human resources at EMCOR UK, said: “The candidate market is hugely competitive, especially due to the pandemic transforming the labour market. Numerous FM firms are striving to hire top talent. Clearly communicating the employer value proposition and career progression pathways are essential to stand out, and this is where Rebekah’s experience will be invaluable. Her previous success in strategic talent acquisition will translate well into elevating our holistic hiring process, helping us attract the best candidates for the benefit of EMCOR UK and our clients.”
