A residential mixed-use skyscraper designed by Apt is set to provide 669 homes.

Two towers, of 58 and 55 storeys respectively, have been approved by the Old Oak & Park Royal Development Corporation.

The scheme, from Aldau Development, replaces a previous proposal from Kohn Pedersen Fox for the site in Ealing, West London. The site currently contains a Holiday Inn hotel.

Apt’s proposal includes 669 residential apartments, a 90 key 4-star hotel, hospitality and ground floor retail space. CGIs show an outdoor canopy with seating to encourage meeting and socialising.

Bram van der Wal, Director and Project Leader at Apt, said: “We’re thrilled that the OPDC has approved the proposal which will has not only been configured to complement North Acton’s emerging Southern Gateway cluster but also create a new destination for the local community, and we look forward to working with Aldau through the next stages of the project.”

Niall Watters of ALDAU Development added: “The tireless work of our design team and officers is evident in the quality of the scheme which received unanimous consent today. We are excited to move forward and deliver. This highly efficient, residential led, mixed-use scheme with hotel, will stand out in a busy Build to Rent market, brining hospitality to real estate and much needed new homes to West London.”
