Mitie’s Total Security Management business was successful in the competitive tender process in securing the two plus two-year contract at all of E.ON’s UK sites delivering 24-hour security personnel.

Mitie reports that it was awarded the contract based on its ‘critical security environment expertise’ and its online operations software, Workplace+ which gives the client access to accurate, real-time contract management information.

“The award of this contract recognises Mitie’s experience in the sector and commitment to training and developing staff to provide high standards of performance,” stated George Moss, Security Operations Manager, E.ON. “I hope that through a mutually supportive relationship between E.ON and Mitie we can achieve the primary objective of promoting a safe and secure environment for our employees and contractors as well as visitors to our sites.”

For his part, Jason Towse, MD, Mitie Total Security Management business, stated: “This is a sector where we can deliver subject matter expertise to improve the relationship through implementing best practice and information sharing with other security critical environments.”

Oldham College makes FM appointment

CBRE has been appointed to provide FM services to Oldham College across its 271, 000sqft site. The college is a higher education facility providing a range of qualifications including financial and professional services, the arts, media, travel, sport, the built environment, commercial and retail services.

In the last two years the college has invested £22 million in its campus resulting in three modern buildings, servicing over 10,000 students over the academic year. The college has a main campus with 17 satellite buildings.

Following a competitive tender, CBRE will deliver mechanical and electrical engineering, ground maintenance, landscaping and fabric work for Oldham College and among the buildings it will be providing FM services to are:

• Library.

• Gymnasium and sports hall.

• High school and primary school.

• Theatre.

“It has been great to have CBRE operating alongside us. The college now feels confident about our legal compliance and future maintenance,” explained Ian Nuttall, Head of Campus Management, Oldham College.
