Gathering of the Wise for FM's Future

21 May 2015 | Updated 01 January 1970

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is organising a FM conference which will see industry leaders from across the UK come together to forecast what the future of the sector may look like.

The RICS Strategic FM Conference, held at the Kensington Close Hotel in London on World FM Day (10 June 2015), is designed to look at the importance of FM and its need to be at the heart of the business strategies of all organisations. The conference which will also include a live stream from a venue in Manchester, will also assess future workplace challenges and the FM skills that will be needed to tackle them as well as the importance of collaborative and influential leadership needed to implement effective FM initiatives.

Among the keynote speakers will be Rory Murphy, Commercial Director at VINCI Facilities; Gareth Price, a member of Shell’s Real Estate and FM team; Kath Fontana, Managing Director of BAM FM and Chair of RICS’ FM Professional Group Board; and Alan Bainbridge, Director of Property and Projects at the BBC.

“RICS believes that all organisations, regardless of size or sector, should have a solid FM strategy in place in order to benefit and enhance their organisation and its employees,” explained Paul Bagust, Director, RICS’ UK Commercial Property Professional Group. “The purpose of the RICS Strategic FM Conference will be to support FM professionals in thinking about the next five to 10 years and what their FM strategy should include.”
