BSRIA is staging an Information Management in FM Event in London this month and is urging industry decision makers to attend.

This morning meeting is aimed at bringing the FM sector together with the construction supply chain.

Advancement in Building Information Modelling (BIM) gives the industry an opportunity to get information management right from the start for new projects. BSRIA contends that delivering information is relatively easy in this digital age but delivering ‘useful’ information is more challenging.

The event will provide an introduction into the power of good information and then looks in more detail as to what the supply chain is being challenged with and how clients can improve what they ask for.

A challenge presented from a recent case study is designed to get the delegates thinking about information management which is followed by a workshop to identify the information requirements needed in operation and how the supply chain can deliver that.

The main speaker is Trevor Miles. He is a Chartered Management Consultancy Surveyor who works at IBM Global Business Services in the Business Analytics and Strategy (BA&S) service line. Miles is the UK and Ireland Smarter Buildings, Real Estate and FMConsulting lead.

“Building managers are tasked with the never ending job of keeping up with the demands of the core business and it is advantageous for all those tasked with this to embrace BIM in order to demonstrate the best use of resources and the savings that could be achieved,” explained Tracey Tilbry, Networks & Events Manager, BSRIA. “Above all, these events are a fantastic opportunity to network and share best practice with your peers, clients and competitors.”

Where & When

The meeting is run as a series of events for BSRIA’s O&M Benchmarking Network which has been running for almost 15 years and is being held on Friday, 5 February, from 09:30-13:30 at Thomson Reuters, Canary Wharf, London EC14 5EP.
