A fundraising day in Wales has contributed to an ambitious goal for children’s charity. The event (main picture) was held by Caerphilly headquartered PHS Group and raised £8,500 for children’s palliative care charity, Together for Short Lives. The Group is now halfway towards its pledge of raising £50,000 for the charity.

The firm’s first ever national fundraising day saw PHS colleagues in over 100 locations across the UK partake in a range of activities to raise money for the charity.

Samantha Edmunds, organisational development officer at PHS Group, helped organise the event and said: “Together for Short Lives is an incredible charity and we are delighted to have been able to help out with such a worthy cause. We want to do our best to raise awareness of the charity and hope to partner with them for years to come.”

Nick Appleby, new business development manager at Together for Short Lives, commented: “It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm from everyone at PHS. These activities help to raise the crucial funds that local children’s hospices need to be able to support some of the UK’s most seriously ill children. Our partnership with PHS makes an enormous difference to thousands of children with life threatening or life limiting conditions and their families, and I would like to say a huge thank you on their behalf.”
