Poly Contracts In FM Digest

We've an interesting range of major contract wins for FM players such as Polyteck at Metrus, Kier at the Red Cross, CBRE at 200 Grays Inn Road and ABM at Victoria Square shopping centre in Northern Ireland.

 

Metrus Appoints Polyteck

Metrus, an independent UK property advisor has given Polyteck, not one but two contracts.

As part of the contracts, worth approximately £1 million in total turnover, Polyteck will provide a wide range of facilities management services at Oxford House located in Aylesbury, and a site on Grosvenor Street, located in London’s Mayfair.

The three year contracts will see Polyteck provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning services, drainage, life safety and security at both locations. Polyteck is also responsible for any fabric maintenance, repairs or refurbishment at the locations, managed by Metrus.

Polyteck was chosen for the ability to self-deliver services and a commitment to working with landlords, management and residents within the properties.

Both Grosvenor Street (150,000sq.ft) and Oxford House (100,000sq.ft) are multi-tenanted offices and house a broad range of businesses. Both are static manned site contracts.

In the same period, Polyteck has also won a further £500K of facilities management contracts for other prominent managing agents in Canary Wharf and Central London.

 

 

British Red Cross Total FM Contract

Kier has won an £8 million contract to provide a national facilities management solution to the British Red Cross. The contract marks the first time the charity has appointed one provider to deliver FM across its 620 shops, offices, storage facilities and other buildings, which cover the length and breadth of the UK, from Orkney to the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland.

The three-year contract, which goes live in February 2018, includes:

  • Mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance.
  • Reactive work.
  • Compliance testing, fire alarms and security system maintenance.
  • Waste services including clinical waste.
  • Fire and water risk assessments.

The contract will see Kier working to streamline processes and introduce greater transparency in reporting, which will identify opportunities for improvements and lead to savings.

 

Social impact

As part of this contract, Kier is implementing a range of social impact measures, such as ethical procurement and volunteering initiatives, to support the charity in meeting its strategic objectives.

Carol O’Neill, Director of Shared Service Centre, British Red Cross, said: “The British Red Cross has a diverse UK wide property portfolio. Moving to a single source national supplier under Kier reduces the complexity of our facilities management delivery models, improves transparency of service delivery, supports compliance and helps us drive down our costs."

We will be doing all we can to encourage our teams and supply chain partners to get fully involved in the work of the British Red Cross both professionally and on a voluntary basis.”

 

Here Is The News - CBRE Takes 200 Gray's Inn Road

Global real estate advisor CBRE has been appointed by Great Portland Estates plc to provide a total FM contract for 200 Gray’s Inn Road.

200 Gray’s Inn Road was originally designed and built for ITN by Foster & Partners. The building comprises of 291,600sq.ft, providing offices and TV studios for well-known international occupiers from the leisure and media industries.

Under the terms of the contract, the CBRE team will provide around the clock cover to facilitate a complete facilities maintenance programme, including mechanical and electrical maintenance support across the building.

Craig Bristow, Business Unit Director CBRE GWS commented: “We have worked with Great Portland Estates for the last three years and already maintain a portfolio of its buildings, including contracts with 240 Blackfriars Road, SE1, City Place House and City Tower, Basinghall, EC1. The teams at these sites have worked hard to align our service delivery to fulfil the client’s business goals. This has enabled us to be the perfect fit to provide another bespoke package at a unique critical location.”

 

Victoria Crown For ABM

January 25 saw ABM confirm a contract win with Belfast's largest shopping centre, Victoria Square.

Worth over £1 million for the growing Northern Irish part of ABM's business, the three-year contract will see the company supply the site with more than 50 members of staff covering security, cleaning, customer services and environmental.

One of the roles will see ABM staff acting as a 'tour guide'; positioned in Victoria Square's glass dome which boasts 360-degree views across Belfast. Staff will be responsible for informing tourists about the city's major landmarks and rich history. This is especially significant this year which sees the shopping centre celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

Kyle Russell, Regional Manager – Ireland at ABM, said: “Everyone at ABM is chuffed to be working with Victoria Square, which is without doubt Northern Ireland's best-known and most exclusive shopping centres. Having grown up in Belfast, I personally remember it being built and evolving into what it is today - an iconic part of the city's landscape.

"ABM continues to establish itself in the area and Victoria Square is a fantastic addition to the company's retail portfolio. It's also a key account win, which our team has secured just three months after being appointed to manage the cleaning and security operations at another of Northern Ireland’s leading retail complexes, Bloomfield Shopping Centre."

Victoria Square houses over 70 international and local brands, restaurants and a cinema complex and is regarded to be a premium commercial, residential and leisure development, which took over six years to construct. Covering approximately 800,000sq.ft and costing £400m, it is the biggest and one of the most expensive property developments ever undertaken in Northern Ireland.
