CBRE has been reappointed to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance services to the National Gallery in London.

Despite painting a good picture of itself at the gallery for  fifteen years now, CBRE still had to go through a competitive tender exercise to grab a further five year extension - with a possible two more years on top of that.

 The appropriately named Steve Vandyke, Head of Building & Facilities at The National Gallery said: “CBRE continue to provide a well managed, service, with an emphasis on continuous improvement. They have always shown a deep understanding of our specific environment and the fundamental requirement to protect and maintain our highly valuable paintings and artefacts.”

 

Hamilton Park Racecourse

Hamilton Park Racecourse in Scotland has let a ten year contract with Sodexo worth about £20 million. Sodexo will continue to provide catering services on race days at the Lanarkshire venue, in addition to selling and operating all conference and banqueting events.

 

Having a Paddy

Bookmakers Paddy Power Betfair has gambled on ISS to provide technical services, including planned and reactive maintenance, to its property portfolio including over 600 retail shops and service centres across the UK and Ireland. This geographic spread will put the 24/7 ISS Service Centre and 750 mobile engineers to the test.

 

A good reception

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty has asked Mitie to deliver reception services. Mitie has been providing a number of services for AGCS since 2010, including mechanical and electrical maintenance, cleaning, security, pest control, asset management, waste management and mailroom. The contract expansion will see Mitie deliver reception services over the next three years.

 

14th Century refurb

SPIE UK has been appointed as Principal Contractor for the upgrade and refurbishment works to Smithills Hall, a Grade I listed Manor House in Bolton.

The contract, appointed by Bolton Council and valued at up to £500,000, includes specialist internal, external and conservation works to sympathetically refurbish and upgrade areas that date back to the 14th Century. Works commenced in early February and will last for 12 weeks.
