As facilities managers adopt an increasingly strategic role, it is vital that they consider emerging technology trends and factor them into the planning process in order to secure competitive advantage.

The Facilities Show will be hosting a live webinar on Thursday entitled ‘Technology - Changing the Future of the FM Profession’. The webinar will feature a panel of experts from the FM, property and technology sectors, who will discuss a series of trends that are likely to have an impact on facilities managers in 2014 and beyond.

Topics under consideration include:

Mobile & Cloud Technology - as smart phones and tablets make a significant impact upon FM, how businesses can leverage trends such as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) to produce results.

Consolidation of Property & FM Data - recent studies have highlighted how FM data is valued by property directors. The panel will discuss how software delivers the boardroom level information required to formulate strategic property and FM decisions.

Space Management - as the workplace continues to evolve at pace, the ways in which technology supports flexible working practices, such as hot-desking and hotelling, to deliver occupational cost savings.

BIM (Building Information Modelling) - The panel will discuss the benefits that BIM can offer and consider how working practices need to shift in order to embrace BIM.

The webinar will last for approximately 40 minutes and will conclude with a live Q&A session, during which attendees will have the opportunity to put questions to the panellists. Thursday 11:00a.m.-12:00p.m. Click here to register
