All that Glitters...

A new snap survey by PHS Greenleaf, provider of planting and landscaping services, has revealed that the most popular colour combination for Christmas tree decorations this year is red and gold.

The choice received 34% of the vote* and the research also found that those aged between 18-44 are more likely to be preparing for a modern, blue and silver theme, while those aged 45 and above are more tempted by the classic red and gold.

“Despite the UK population still enjoying traditions such as a roast dinner, Christmas carols and frantically wrapping presents at the last minute, the modern blue and silver theme (33%) is hot on the heels of red and gold,” stated John Davies, Head of Key Accounts, PHS Greenleaf. “The run up to Christmas is a very exciting period for us as we’ve been busily preparing our selection of decorations all year round and now is the time we find out which of our themes is going to be most popular.”

Each year PHS Greenleaf installs almost 4,000 pre-decorated Christmas trees, along with its 10.5 miles of PAT-tested lighting.

*The sample survey of 1,000 respondents comprised 49% males and 51% females.
