Cutting Cost of Kitchen Waste

16 January 2015 | Updated 01 January 1970

Kingspan Environmental, designer and manufacturer of commercial waste management and sustainable systems for buildings, will display its range of food waste digesting products at The Hospitality Show 2015. (Stand 228 in the CESA Innovation Zone at The Hospitality Show, 19-21 January 2015, NEC Birmingham.)

Waste2-O, is described as a smart and cost effective alternative to macerating or composting food waste, and iFOG, an award-winning, environmentally friendly option to removing fat, oil and grease from kitchen drains.

Show visitors can also take advantage of expert consultations from Kingspan’s food waste compliance team.

With Waste2-O, food is loaded into the top of the unit and a powerful formulation of micro-organisms rapidly digest it, producing a totally neutral, greywater. A single unit can turn 180kg of food into waste water, suitable for discharging through the drain, in 24 hours, removing the need to send it to landfill.

Waste2-O can also help kitchens drive greater efficiencies by eliminating the time taken for staff to bag and bin food waste, creating savings which can feed straight back to the bottom line.

iFOG is another intelligent system for waste removal that uses naturally occurring micro-organisms to eat the fat, oil and grease (FOG) which builds up in kitchen drains.
