Uliving at Essex is a consortium made up of Bouygues Development, Derwent FM’s parent company, not-for-profit accommodation operator Derwent Living and investment company Equitix Uliving – they have all agreed to give Derwent FM a second 50 year facilities management and student services contract.

The agreement will create a total portfolio of 1,430 beds.

The company is providing accommodation management, tenancy management, security, cleaning, helpdesk, maintenance and has taken on full life-cycle responsibilities.

The scheme is part of the University’s commitment to providing high quality on-campus accommodation, which also includes a pavilion with student common room, launderette and a ‘grab-and-go’ retail facility. University Registrar, Bryn Morris, said: “This is a superb example of what can be achieved through partnership.”
