New App Helps FMs Plan for Winter Weather

19 February 2016 | Updated 01 January 1970

GRITIT has launched a winter maintenance planning App aimed especially for those FMs who spend time away from the office and who manage multiple sites in various locations.

The App which is hosted on the Apple App Store, provides real-time information that is claimed can be quickly and easily downloaded on to any smart phone or mobile device. Full graphic visuals of the scheduled, completed and historic visits, gives the user a complete, instant visual picture of service.

Other features of the App include:

  • Drill down data for all sites with weather information and job types.

  • Data on daily activations.

  • Seven days’ historic service data.

  • The facility to contact GRITIT on any service issue via the app.

“The need for FMs to be mobile is increasing and the app is a valuable addition to a winter maintenance plan that helps to provide evidence in the event of any injury claims,” explained Nikki Singh-Barmi, MD, GRITIT. “All organisations must be able to demonstrate that they have done everything reasonably possible to meet their duty of care and that they have met all health and safety legislation when it comes to making sites safe for staff, customers and visitors during harsh winter weather.”

To give FMs and property management professionals practical advice and guidance in developing better working practices around winter maintenance,

GRITIT and the BIFM have recently published the Good Practice Guide to Winter Maintenance.
