A new appointment has been made to launch a specialist facilities management division at executive search firm Flint Hyde.

Taking on the role of Head of Facilities Management, Alistair Houston brings with him nine years’ experience in recruitment, working with Mackenzie Stuart and Core Consulting, eight of which were spent specialising in the facilities management industry.

Flint Hyde was set up by Jonathan Flint and James Hyde in 2003 and employs 25 people across offices in Leeds and London. Handling senior level appointments.

Houston said: “Hopefully I can add another very successful specialism to the company – the facilities management sector is continuing to grow, particularly in the UK, Middle East, the Far East and across Europe.”

ISS UK is now responsible for the building maintenance, cleaning and security FM services for the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) at its prestigious 30 Euston Square address in London.

The RCGP is the UK’s largest medical Royal College and the membership body representing over 50,000 family doctors.

From last autumn, ISS has provided an integrated FM management model including building maintenance services, security and manned guarding, cleaning and housekeeping services, energy and environmental management and health and safety management. The company will work alongside the RCGP to support its conferencing and events business as well as member accommodation with their 41 study bedrooms.

“Our headquarters at 30 Euston Square is the ‘home’ of general practice and it is important that our members and many visitors – including patient groups – feel welcome and have a positive experience,” explained Dr Valerie Vaughan-Dick, Executive Director of Planning and Resources, RCGP. “We wanted to appoint a company that could provide excellent customer service in line with what our members expect and deserve from their college.”

Imtech UK & Ireland’s Technical FM business, Imtech Inviron, has won a three-year contract with new client, Great Portland Estates plc.

A team of six Imtech Inviron engineers, permanently based on site, will undertake the planned preventative and reactive maintenance to the M&E and public health services across the combined 28 floors of City Tower and City Place House, located in Central London.

“We are looking forward to partnering with Imtech Inviron and are confident that the highest level of customer service will be delivered to the blue chip occupants of these buildings,” said Peter Nolan, Building Services Manager, Great Portland Estates plc.
