Last month Carillion was selected as preferred bidder for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s estates and facilities management contract. It has now confirmed that Carillion will commence providing the services on the circa £200m contract from 1 July.

Ten days ago, ThisWeekinFM reported tht Telereal Trillium, a major property and services provider, has appointed Cofely to deliver a range of hard and soft facilities management and project services under a new integrated facilities management agreement. At a whopping£300million it is said to be the larget contract of its kind ever let. See more here

Back to Nottingham

Rupert Egginton, Director of Finance and Procurement for  Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and Alan Hayward, Finance Director at Carillion Services formally signed the contract (pictured) which will see Carillion provide facilities management and estate transformation services to the Trust’s three main sites, which include Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House.

Carillion was awarded the five year contract which has an option to extend for a further three years following a competitive tender process. The success is being put down by people at the organisation to the company's extensive national and international experience in the sector, history of working with similar sized hospitals and its ability to demonstrate that it can meet the Trust’s quality and financial requirements.

Rupert Egginton, commented: “Our first impressions of Carillion during the mobilisation period have been positive. We are confident that together as strategic partners we can further improve the quality of services for the benefit of our patients and carers.”
