21 October 2013 | Updated 01 January 1970

The NHS Sustainability Day 2014 in March 2014 will see NHS organisations across the country participate in activities and events to promote sustainable practice and to demonstrate how a sustainable future can benefit everyone. Topics covered will include the promotion of healthy lifestyles, waste and energy reduction and education, support and training in local communities.

Sustainability roadshows organised by Barts NHS Trust and 4 All of Us Social Enterprise will be taking place across the Country leading up to the NHS Sustainability Day 2014 on 27 March 2014.

One company in particular, Carillion Health, will be providing speakers. MD Mike Hobbs said: “The Sustainability is an important agenda item for the NHS and its partner organisations. We will be involved to share some of our experiences and more importantly to learn from the experience of others.”

The launch of the roadshows at Barts Health (pictured) recently provided an opportunity to network and to hear speakers that included, Rick Walker from NHS England, Dr Tom Pierce from the University Hospital Southampton and Professor David Walker, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England.
