Sofa So Good

BoConcept has introduced the Ottawa, a multifunctional modular sofa, designed by Karim Rashid.

Ottawa is intended to provide space for collaboration and informal meetings as well as a room for employees to relax and recharge.

“The organic, flowing forms provide a pleasant feeling of nature, where you rarely find perfectly straight line. This soft expression invites people to sit down. This allows the sofa to transmit a clear message: Welcome,” says Rashid.

The sofa can be customised to any public space or workplace. There are 10 different modules, each with its own function including: a moveable table, an ottoman with laptop tray and USB outlets for charging mobile devices.

“One module is an ottoman, another has a back where people can interact with each other and a third has a back shaped like a wishbone where three people can each have privacy – looking in every direction while still being together. It's a sofa with a simple expression and at the same time, beautifully complex,” drones Rashid.
