The PHS Group is to sell its PHS Data Solutions business to Restore PLC. The business is comprised of PHS Datashred, PHS Records Management and Capital Capture.

Whilst conditions are being satisfied, there will be an internal business transfer to a new company within the PHS Group (Data Solutions 2016 Limited).

Charles Skinner, Chief Executive of Restore told ThisWeekinFM: "The acquisition of PHS Data Solutions is a further significant step in our strategy of consolidation and provides a compelling opportunity to combine with a business of scale whose activities are all core to Restore. It will transform our shredding activities to make Restore the second largest operator in an attractive market and provides scope to realise synergies in records management and document scanning."

 

Facilities Show figures

The Facilities Show, organised by UBM EMEA at London’s ExCeL in June says the event attracted 11,353 attendees - with an 18% increase in visitors over the first two days. Day three was hit by floods and the EU Referendum but still pulled in 3,000 brave folk. Visitors came from 40 different countries.

Event Director Heather Beach said: “Even wild weather and a referendum couldn’t keep us down this year."

The show also continued to benefit from the co-located fire, health & safety, security, service management and workwear and uniform events, which as a total saw over 45,000 visitors at the ExCeL over the three days.

 

The Brookwood Partnership and ABsolutely Catering announce merger with CH&Co Group

Education caterer, The Brookwood Partnership and its sister company, ABsolutely Catering, have merged with CH&Co Group to become specialist education brands within the Group. The merger gives the newly enlarged Group a turnover in excess of £200m and its associated brands will provide catering at over 600 sites across the UK, employing nearly 6,000 in its team.

 

Mitie achieves Carbon Trust Standard

Mitie has been awarded certification to the Carbon Trust Standard for Carbon, for its work on successfully measuring, managing and reducing its carbon footprint. The Carbon Trust Standard is globally recognised as an independent certification of a company’s progress in taking action on greenhouse gas emissions, demonstrating that the company has not only adopted good practice but has equally shown real achievements in managing and reducing its carbon emissions year-on-year.

 

Cloudfm Wins TUI Contract

One of the world’s leading tourism companies, TUI is best known in the UK for its retail brands, First Choice and Thomson. The Group has over 600 shops in the UK and achieved record performance last year. Cloudfm has been appointed to manage all planned and reactive maintenance. The contract, worth approximately £25m over five years, will add to Cloudfm’s retail portfolion which already includes brands such as Wolseley, Karen Millen, Warehouse, Coast and Oasis.

This news comes after Cloudfm’s announcement that it won the FM contract with Wolseley covering circa 1000 buildings in the UK.

 

Comserve to Support Allied Irish Bank Nationwide

Comserve, the mechanical and electrical maintenance and installation services arm of Incentive FM Group, has won a 3-year contract to provide services to Allied Irish Bank at 22 of its sites across the UK. This involves both office buildings and high street branches and is designed to ensure a compliant and comfortable environment for both employees and customers. Under the terms of the deal, which was awarded by property agent, McBains Cooper, Comserve will be responsible for all heating, air conditioning and lighting equipment across the sites, in addition to undertaking minor fabrication repair and refurbishment. Comserve’s 70-strong mobile engineering team will provide a full planned maintenance programme including all statutory testing and inspections. Additionally, Comserve will provide a 24/7, 365 emergency call out service.

 

 

Agents4RM leaves OCS

Agents4RM have agreed terms for Lionel Prodgers to buy out OCS’s shareholding in Agents4RM International Limited. The OCS UK facilities management business is being refocused to concentrate on providing services to organisations within education, healthcare, government, business and industry, leisure and retail. This will enable the business to channel its resources into areas where it is already strong and has the potential to grow.

Agents4RM will continue to offer consultancy and information management services relating to the built environment and facilities management from its offices in London and Dubai.

 

ISS retains contract to provide school lunches in the London Borough of Redbridge

ISS has been re-awarded the contract to provide school lunches to fifty schools in the London Borough of Redbridge, for a further six years.

Over the past seven years, ISS and Redbridge Council have evolved the school meals service into one which is healthy, sustainable, popular and affordable. During this period, school meal uptake has increased from 36% to 69%, and continues to rise. The ISS team in Redbridge currently provide around 3,340,800 school meals every year.
