What Don't You Want? Give It Away to Help People in Need

29 August 2014 | Updated 01 January 1970

In 2013 Giving World Online saved 450,245 items from landfill, helping 276,494 people in need and plans to beat this by the end of 2014 - can you help?

The organisation provides a sustainable service to businesses by redistributing their surplus for free by saving storage costs (freeing additional space), transport costs and landfill tax.

Any unused surplus can create a wide variety of options to aid those in poverty and social exclusion.

The process is described as ‘simple’ – the company (donor) advises on the kind of items, volume and collection point. GW then actively alerts charities of donated goods and arranges the collection of goods for re-distribution to beneficiaries. All the process is handled by GW.

Post donation, the donors receive free CSR reports documenting whom they have helped and the difference their donation has achieved that they can use, e.g. corporate communications, annual report etc. As of now, GW can also provide CO2e savings on their donations.
