Emerging Workplace Leaders Announce New Co-Chairs

Emerging Workplace Leaders Announce New Co-Chairs
01 March 2021

The Emerging Workplace Leaders volunteer group has announced a change in leadership with two new co-chairs.

Bianca Angelico, Director of Guest Services at Amulet, and Phil Matis, Operations Director at Churchill, will assume the position of co-chairs in March 2021, taking over from James Bradley, Director at Churchill, and Claudia Halabi, Head of Talent Acquisition EMEA at JLL who has headed up the committee of volunteers since 2018.

The Emerging Workplace Leaders volunteer group (EWL) was founded in 2019, after taking the reins from the Young Manager’s Forum (YMF) and is a collective group of professionals within the workplace and facilities management sector. The group’s unifying mission is to accelerate change in the workplace and create a community and platform that enables the leaders of today and tomorrow to connect and accelerate their personal and professional growth.

"Bianca and I are excited about our plans for this year and look forward to continuing to make a difference at a time when FM and workplace is really in the spotlight. While making connections is challenging in a world when restrictions are in place, we have made it our mission to continue this on through innovative and engaging ways, so that we can be as strong a sector as we possibly can post-pandemic.”

Operations Director, Churchill

The committee is made up of ten volunteers, with representatives from leading organisations such as Mitie, Churchill, Leesman, ISS, Sodexo and CBRE. The group run regular events both virtually and in-person, when restrictions allow; actively manage the process for the annual Young Leader of the Year Award, as part of the PFM awards, and work on making meaningful and long-lasting professional relationships in the industry.

New Co-Chair Bianca Angelico commented: “I am bursting with enthusiasm to drive EWL’s agenda and mission throughout 2021 and into 2022. As a member of EWL / YMF for 5 years, I am passionate about the benefits that the ELW community brings. By supporting others, this strong community achieves great things. I know first-hand that EWL is a forum for people to come together and learn. EWL provides the platform for networking, sharing of knowledge and most of all recognition of our emerging leaders of tomorrow, who I look forward to meeting over the coming years.”

Bianca and I are excited about our plans for this year and look forward to continuing to make a difference at a time when FM and workplace is really in the spotlight. While making connections is challenging in a world when restrictions are in place, we have made it our mission to continue this on through innovative and engaging ways, so that we can be as strong a sector as we possibly can post-pandemic.”
